Social Media Policy

This policy informs you of the social media policy of Alyssa Arnol LCSW, PLLC as it relates to this website, including any blog posts on websites or social media accounts connected to the website and operated by Alyssa Arnol LCSW, PLLC. 

Engaging on Website and Social Media 

For my current or past clients, as well as any visitors to the website, you are welcome to view my professional social media pages or blog posts. There is no expectation that you follow or engage with the website, blog, or social media accounts. You of course have the right to follow, like, comment, share or engage with the site and connected social media pages however you so wish. However, it is important to understand the risks to your own confidentiality as these actions are public and for others to see. Additionally, I will not follow any current or past clients back, engage with you, or respond to you on social media in any way.  I ask that you not message me in any fashion on social media as a means to communicate with me as I cannot guarantee I will see the message and I will not respond as it is a risk to your confidentiality. If you have questions pertaining to my social media posts, things you want to share with me, or anything in general, please bring it up in our session and we can discuss, or reach out in the means outlined under “Communication Methods”

Communication Methods

While I accept emails, voice messages, and text messages to communicate schedule issues, I cannot guarantee confidentiality within these means of communication. I will take all reasonable measures to maintain your privacy and security but understand that there is a risk to confidentiality within these methods of communication. If you choose to communicate by email or text, there is no contemplation of privacy. While it is unlikely that anyone will see or acquire copies of any such communication, they are, by their nature, not secured. If you communicate to me via these unencrypted methods, I will assume you’ve made the informed decision around the risks that these methods of communication are not secure and risk being intercepted. I will thus honor your decision to communicate in this way. However, I will not communicate about personal therapeutic or emergency information via these methods. If you are a current client and are experiencing an urgent clinical matter, please call me and leave a voice message requesting a call back. I am not available on an emergency or “on-call” basis in the event of a mental health emergency. Clients requiring immediate assistance must call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Information Storage

I utilize an electronic device to gather, store, and manage client information. I will take all reasonable steps to ensure the client’s information is kept confidential and secure. The risks to this include, but are not limited to, someone intentionally hacking the system and gaining access to the data, the electronic device is misplaced or stolen, electronic data may be unintentionally sent to the wrong person, especially when using email or text message.

Website 

I have a professional website that is accessible to clients. It displays information about my practice, including fees, services, and information about who I am as a therapist and what areas of therapy I specialize in. You are welcome to access and review the information included on my website. If you have any questions, please reach out to me via email or phone. You can also use the contact form on the Contact page of my website. 

Location-Based Services 

If you use location-based services on your mobile phone, you may wish to turn these settings off. While Alyssa Arnol LCSW, PLLC is not listed as a check-in location on Google, Facebook, Foursquare, or other sites, if you have GPS tracking enabled on your device, others may conclude you are a therapy client based on your shared location. 

Changes To This Social media Policy

This Social Media Policy is effective as of March 28th, 2021 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. I reserve the right to update or change my Social Media Policy at any time and you should check this Social Media Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after I post any modifications to the Social Media Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Social Media Policy. If I make any material changes to this Social Media Policy, I will notify you either through the email address you have provided me, or by placing a notice on my website.
